Emily Brown is an avid cyclist who doesn’t just love bikes; she believes in their transformative power. With a career in the bike industry spanning since 2016, she currently works as a Field Guide for SRAM, where she values the opportunity to foster community, advocate for important causes, and support bike shops—the heart of the industry. Emily owned DirtBags Bikepacking for seven years and worked in marketing at Strider, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to cycling. Emily's commitment to biking goes beyond her professional life, reflecting her deep-seated belief in the ability of bikes to empower, inspire, and connect people.

Kevin Jasper, Vice President
KEVIN IS passionate ABOUT TRAILS: BUILDING NEW TRAILS, MAINTAINING TRAILS, RIDING TRAILS, RUNNING TRAILS, INTRODUCING PEOPLE TO TRAILS, ETC. IN THE PAST 15+YRS, KEVIN HAS WORKED IN THE SPEARFISH AREA TO MAINTAIN AND BUILD LOCAL TRAILS. IF YOU RUN INTO HIM ON TRAIL, YOU WILL RARELY SEE HIM WITHOUT A SMILE ON HIS FACE (EVEN IF HE IS WORKING ON TRAIL). KEVIN IS A LONG-TIME MOUNTAIN BIKER WHO RECENTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH TRAIL RUNNING. HE WORKS IN THE CYCLING INDUSTRY. KEVIN’S MAIN GOAL WITH STC IS TO OPEN NEW HORIZONS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OTHERS.

Heath Brown, Treasurer
If you use the trails in Spearfish chances are you will meet Heath Brown. Whether he is doing trail maintenance on Lookout Mountain, cross country skiing at Big Hill, or running on Tinton, Heath loves to be outside on a trail. Heath is the current Secretary at STC. He has a degree in Outdoor Education from Black Hills State, and a background in wildland firefighting. He believes that the greatest impact STC can have is through trails education.

Michelle is a lifelong rider who believes the best trails tell a story, showcasing the local style and culture of a town. Awesome trails are infused with history, continuity, intention, and of course, some welcome surprises. She brings practical, hands-on experience maintaining local Forest Service trails and combines it with a professional background in development and writing. At STC, she’s focused on helping shape a sustainable trail ecosystem in the Black Hills—one that honors the soul and creativity of old-school lines while unlocking bigger budgets, greater access, and even more community stoke. Her goal is to bring thoughtful stewardship to the decision-making table and keep the ride close to home for everyone.
